Sundays

First things first, I would like to think my lovely lady for bring this matter, and my faults in it, to my attention. ♥

In today's busy world, Sunday is anything but a day of rest. We are always out and about, doing this and that. There are places to go, people to see, no time to rest. Right? Not exactly... On the seventh day, Sunday, God rested after creating the world. He made it a Commandment that on Sunday should be a day of rest. Back in biblical times, they took this very seriously. Even the preparation of food was considered work and, therefore, not done. Nowadays, for most people, it's different. There's church, then football, running errands, planning for the week ahead, etc. We don't give God his place on this day. Sometimes we only allot him an hour or two during church. So how much of the day should be devoted to God? Well, all of it. I know it's difficult. He knows it's difficult, that's why He forgives us for not devoting this day to Him. But it doesn't have to stay this way. We don't have to keep ignoring God on the day that should be devoted to Him. Start small. Give Him a little more time than you do now. Rest a little more, read the Bible. Then you can increase the time you do those things and you're on your way. :)

Peace,
Kyle

  2. I'm so glad I could help! I've also just recently accepted Christ into my life (~early July). It's what prompted me to create God's Word Saves. Because it does. His word has saved me, and saved you. You're comment made my day; thank you so much! Remember to keep reading and commenting. If I may ask one thing: Please suggest the site to your friends, family, church family, etc. Spreading the blog is spreading the Word! :)

    Stay strong,
    Kyle

  3. I would love to do that for you, the thing is I don't know how many of my friends or family will read it, I am raised in an atheist family and most of my friends are atheist or agnostic, I have no idea what church to attend yet but I am looking hard for one. I want to thank you again because you have helped me so much, and I wish you the best of luck on this blog!
    Stay strong yourself!

  5. amanda,
if i may , i would like to suggest going to a protestant church or a non denominational church. I'm Presbyterian if that helps. we're very bible centered and most congregations end up feeling like family. Also maybe sharing the blog with your friend is why you were led to it in the first place. there's a popular cap song that goes "it only takes a spark to get a fire going... that's how it is with God's love..."maybe you and this blog are the sparks to start their (your friends and family) fires. food for thought.
    Blessings and prayers,
    Alyssa
